What is Lynda.com?

Lynda.com, part of LinkedIn Learning, is an online learning platform offering a variety of online courses in business, software, technology, and more! Linda.com is free through most public libraries. For Massachusetts residents, Lynda.com is available through the Boston Public Library (BPL).  For instructions on how to set up a BPL account, and access Lynda.com, see the boxes below.

Setting up a Boston Public Library Account

To access Lynda.com through the Boston Public Library (BPL) you must create an account. Use this Guide on the Side link to create an account.

Note: Boston Public Library account information IS NOT maintained by the BCC Library. Once an account has been created, the BPL will send login information to your email address. Save the information. If you lose or delete the account information, you'll need to contact the BPL for assistance.

Lynda.com

Getting to Lynda.com

Once you've created a Boston Public Library account  you can log into Lynda.com from the BPL website.

  1. Go to the Boston Public Library website (www.bpl.org)
  2. Choose the Books & More link on the red banner at the top of the page
  3. (then) Choose the Online Resources link (under the Research & Learning header)
  4. Then choose the Online Courses link (in the Learning Tools box)
  5. From here you can log into Lynda.com
